Knowing that we needed to filter our work through the cultural lens of gaming and connect directly with streetwear consumers we came up with the idea of Unlock Achievement – where 1-on-1 consumer vs. celeb competition could unlock prizes.
Needing to affect 2 distinct shoe drops we used vintage gaming, pixel-based patterns and connecting colors; all to bring the sights and sounds of 80’s nostalgia to life.
We installed experiences across two retailers and 5 cities that included 1-on-1 live-streaming gaming stations, celeb gamers and artists, vintage arcade games and large hyper-local Instagram walls along with 8-bit shoe pin giveaways.
At Champs, along with Puma we partnered with Gaming sensation Myth and local rapper Valee to get the party started.
At Footlocker PUMArcade locations, region-specific celebs like BIG K.R.I.T and A Boogie drew crowds and gaming participation for the launch of RS-0 Game Error.
With sell-through numbers that exceeded expectations, and high engagements and impressions across the board we couldn’t be happier with the results.
