Think

Knowing that we needed to filter our work through the cultural lens of gaming and connect directly with streetwear consumers we came up with the idea of 8-bit Reboot – where 1-on-1 consumer vs. celeb competition could unlock prizes.   

Design

Needing to affect 2 distinct shoe drops we used vintage gaming, pixel-based patterns and connecting colors; all to bring the sights and sounds of 80’s nostalgia to life.

Make

We installed experiences across two retailers and 5 cities that included 1-on-1 live-streaming gaming stations, celeb gamers and artists, vintage arcade games and large hyper-local Instagram walls along with 8-bit shoe pin giveaways.

 

At Champs, along with Puma we partnered with Gaming sensation Myth and local rapper Valee to get the party started.

At Footlocker PUMArcade locations, region-specific celebs like BIG K.R.I.T and A Boogie drew crowds and gaming participation for the launch of RS-0 Game Error.

 

Impact

With sell-through numbers that exceeded expectations, and high engagements and impressions across the board we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Chicago Champs launch event: 400,000 live views on Myth’s Twitch stream, 335,000 views on Myth’s YouTube channel.

Activations across ATL, Philly, NYC and Detroit Footlockers for 2 days: 94,0707,672 impressions, 615,871 engagements, 21.1% of engagements converted.
