Exploring

Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America, rich both in history and traditions. Beauty can be found in every corner, but so can poverty; it’s the second-poorest country in the region, with 75% of the population living below the poverty line.

Although impoverished, an abundance of natural resources, hopeful communities, and skilled workers abound. The truest future of the country and it’s people will require systemic and sustainable solutions delivered in concert between for-profit and non-profit entities. Witness how 1 non-profit and a group of investors is changing the game, and speeding up progress through impact investing, and education.

The Nicaragua Impact Journey includes 4 days on the ground to experience the culture and meet the people we serve.

Day 1: Travel to Nicaragua

Arrive into Managua, Nicaragua. A car will pick you up at the airport and drive you to the 5 star resort, Pacaya Lodge and Spa. We will host a welcome dinner at the hotel that evening, and cocktails for the group to get to know each other. David Allman will welcome the group.

Day 2: Impact Visits

We will spend each day in the field experiencing impact or adventure, and return for discussion and fun at the beautiful resort or village. At the meals we will we will hear from our hosts, special guests, and enjoy discussion. On this day we will hear from Bob Lupton, author of Toxic Charity, and experience an inspirational day filled with impact investments and social enterprises (smallholder farms, yucca processing, entrepreneurship school…).

Day 3: Adventures

On this day we will hear from Jeremy Carroll, founder of Latitude, and experience an exciting day filled with Nicaraguan adventures and culture (volcano surfing, hiking, colonial towns).

Day 4: The Impact Continues

On this day we will hear from David Kone of Opportunity International, and experience an energizing day filled with conversation and fellowship (sailing, eating, and reflection)

Day 5: Travel Home

We will head home equipped with the knowledge, stories, and tools to make the world a better place.

Uncovering the giftedness in humanity is the greatest way to move the world forward. ”

- Jeremy Carroll, Co-Founder & President

To prosper over time, every company must not only deliver financial performance, but also show how it makes a positive contribution to society. Without a sense of purpose, no company, either public or private, can achieve its full potential. ”
